Newly-Elected Lankan President Accepts Imran Khan's Invite To Visit Pakistan

COLOMBO: Newly-chose Sri Lankan President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has acknowledged Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's encouragement to visit his nation, the Pakistan High Commission in Colombo said today. 

Imran Khan on Tuesday called President Rajapaksa to praise him on his constituent win and welcomed him to visit Pakistan at his soonest accommodation, announced news organization Press Trust of India. 

The Sri Lankan President will initially make a trip to India on November 29 at the greeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had said on Tuesday. This is probably going to be his first official visit abroad in the wake of expecting office. 

Mr Jaishankar landed in Colombo on Tuesday on an unannounced two-day visit. He turned into the main outside dignitary to approach President Rajapaksa. 

As indicated by Sri Lankan authorities, the pastor conveyed a letter of individual congrats to President Rajapaksa from Prime Minister Modi and the encouragement to visit India. 

Gotabhaya Rajapaksa raged to triumph in Sri Lanka's presidential races, the consequence of which was announced on Sunday. 

PM Modi called President Rajapaksa on Sunday to praise him on his appointive win and welcomed him to visit India as his first official outside visit.
